Welcome to
Development & Mental Health

What is it?
The Development & Mental Health initiative is dedicated to providing education, resources, and support for members facing mental health challenges. Its primary objectives are to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and facilitate access to both professional and peer support services.

Who is it for?
This service is available to all Middlesex members and their families seeking assistance with mental health concerns, personal development, and resilience-building.

Why is it important?
Mental health issues are prevalent across the UK, affecting individuals from all walks of life. Consider the following statistics:
  • Prevalence of Mental Health Problems: Approximately 1 in 4 adults in England experience a mental health problem each year (priorygroup.com)
  • Economic Impact: The cost of poor mental health in England is estimated at £300 billion annually. (mind.org.uk)
  • Service Demand: Around 3.8 million people were in contact with NHS mental health, learning disability, and autism services over the last year, up almost two-fifths compared to before the pandemic. (england.nhs.uk)
These figures underscore the critical need for accessible mental health support and the promotion of well-being within our community.

Examples of Support:
  • Educational Workshops: Sessions focused on mental health awareness, coping strategies, and resilience training.
  • Peer Support Groups: Regular meetings where members can share experiences and offer mutual support in a confidential setting.
  • Professional Counseling Referrals: Assistance in connecting members with qualified mental health professionals for personalized care.
  • Resource Libraries: Access to materials such as books, articles, and online tools related to mental health and personal development.

FREE EVENT: In our busy lives, it's easy to feel isolated. That's why we've created a space for you to connect, share and find support within our Fraternity.

After the success of our pilot session at HDMC, join us for an engaging session led by Mr Rossi Be, a respected life and business coach, where we'll explore life's challenges together. This is a chance to build stronger bonds, gain valuable insights and discover you're not alone.

Think of it as a friendly gathering where you can open up, reflect, and find renewed strength.

This is a first come first served basis with a maximum of 16 people.

You will be contacted if you do not make the first 16 for your selected centre and will be prioritised for the next session.
